Harnett County Parks and Recreation Seeks the Community’s Input on Proposed Northwest Harnett Park Design

Friday, August 8, 2025

Harnett County Parks and Recreation invites the community to help shape the future of the Northwest Harnett Park by providing input on preliminary design concepts.

A floating public meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Northwest Harnett Fire Station 1, located at 6015 Christian Light Road, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.

During the meeting, community members will have the opportunity to view the concepts of the park and provide their thoughts and opinions.

As this is a floating meeting, individuals are welcome to attend at any time that best suits their schedule.

“We purchased this land in 2018 with a long-range vision in mind and were excited to take steps toward making it a reality,” said Drew Bryant, Recreation Program Supervisor. “After gathering input from the community through our May meeting and the survey that followed, we’re eager to hear more feedback on the proposed design. Northwest Harnett is a growing community, and we want to build a park that serves them and their needs.”

Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting and share their input. For more information visit www.harnett.org/parkrec

Harnett County is one of the fastest growing counties in North Carolina with approximately 146,000 residents. Harnett's tagline of "Strong Roots, New Growth," describes a county in transition, one that values its rural agricultural heritage while also embracing new growth and industry. Harnett County is optimally located just between North Carolina's capital city of Raleigh and the internationally recognized Research Triangle Park to the north, and the nation's largest military installation in Fort Bragg to the south.
