The playground at Anderson Creek County Park will be closed for the installation of a NEW PLAYGROUND from December 1, 2025 through January 1, 2026.
The Cape Fear River Trail Park restrooms in Erwin will be closing for winterization on Mon, Dec 1, 2025. They will re-open on March 2, 2026.
The Dunn-Erwin Rail Trail will be undergoing mulching to remove overgrown vegetation encroaching on the trail beginning Mon, Nov 17, 2025 and will run for approximately 2-3 weeks. During this period there may be certain sections of trail that are closed.
Anderson Creek Park Disc Golf Course
With the completion of Phase 1 of the Anderson Creek Park construction came the completion of a full 18-hole disc golf course. To reach the course, follow the sidewalk to the right of the playground, then follow the path to the left towards the woods to reach the first tee.
The course was designed with all levels of skill in mind, so that new beginners, casual players, and advanced-level players can all find themselves right at home with the course. It features hole distances ranging from 170 feet to 465 feet. The course consists mainly of tight, straight shots, with five holes (#2, #3, #12, #14, and #17) having alternate basket locations for added length and challenge. Holes #1 and #11 have a concrete walkway to the respective tees.
