Harnett County Celebrates National First Responders Day
Monday, October 28, 2024
Today, October 28, is National First Responders Day, and Harnett County would like to thank all first responders for their heroic dedication and vital contributions in safeguarding the community and supporting in need. This day is dedicated to honoring those on the front lines in times of crisis – law enforcement officers, emergency management, emergency medical services, fire marshal, fire fighters, and the Sheriff’s Office (telecommunicators and deputies), who work tirelessly to protect and serve.
“On National First Responders Day, we honor the bravery, sacrifice, and dedication of those who are first on the scene, putting their lives on the line to protect and care for our communities,” said Mike Morrow, Harnett County Assistant Manager. “To the Harnett County EMS team, a big thank you for your solid commitment to our health and safety. Your compassion makes a difference, and we are thankful for all that you do. Today, and every day, we recognize your service and dedication.”
Our first responders not only play an essential role within Harnett County but also extend their expertise beyond our borders, providing critical support in other areas and even other states. Whether through search and rescue missions, mutual aid, deployment to assist in large-scale emergencies, disaster relief and recover, specialize training, these individuals are committed to making a difference wherever they’re needed.
“National First Responders Day is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the individuals who risk their lives to keep their communities safe. I am so thankful for the men and women who provide their services and expertise in their respective fields to Harnett County citizens. We honor and thank them every day because they are so valuable to our quality of life. THANK YOU,” said Harnett County Sheriff Wayne Coats.
Harnett County encourages everyone to take a moment today to recognize and thank your local first responders for their invaluable service.
